New Jersey Great Hunger Commemoration

There are 2 events coming up in the northern New Jersey area.  For anyone that will be in the area, please join us.

Sat, May 2   11:00am –   Great Hunger Commemoration (an Gorta Mór)

The Bergen County Council of Irish Associations of Greater Bergen County will conduct a memorial to those who sacrificed their lives during the Famine.  Speaker Henry McNally will articulate on the hardships suffered by the Irish during the Famine.  Fr. Pat Kelly from SMA Fathers will deliver the Invocation and Benediction.  Piper, Jimmy Higgins of the Bergen Irish Association will lead the procession to The Great Hunger Memorial Monument dedicated to those who perished.      http://www.bergencountyirish.org/#!great-hunger-commemoration/c1y8s

Wed, May 13  7:30pm  –    1916 Easter Rising

Neil Cosgrove will speak about Ireland’s 1916 Easter Rising.  Mr Cosgrove is a historian for AOH Division 3, Pearl River, NY. All welcome. Monthly meeting of the Irish American Unity Conference (IAUC).
