Charlie Smith

It is with deep sadness that we bring news of the death of Charlie Smith. Charlie was a founding member of the IAUC in South Florida and also of the Irish Festival group that launched the first festival in Fort Lauderdale.

Charlie passed away on October 17th.  He and Marie Smith were married for 50 years and our condolences go to Marie and all their family.  Marie has been a long time campaigner in support of recognition for the Victims of the Great Irish Hunger and Charlie ardently supported her work for this cause.

There will be a Waking for Charlie, as a celebration of his life, this coming Saturday November 10th. and all are invited.
