Update from Bill Fahey – Boston Commemoration

Update from Bill Fahey – Boston Commemoration

I went to Boston and met Michael Blanch and his wife, Betty up there. They came over from Dublin for the event. We attended the memorial at Fanuiel Hall and the wreath laying after. We met Minister Deenihan and Pres. Higgins later.

Michael has been after them to have some Hunger items in the National Museum. He says there are no items there from the Hunger period and that is a National Disgrace.

We also spoke to two reporters from Irish newspapers and gave them copies of materials from our blog. One of the papers was the Irish Times and the reporter said it would be in Monday’s paper, 5/7, if it got printed.

Michael has been doing a great job with his friends in promoting Hunger material.
