Who Do You Think You Are?

Who Do You Think You Are?

This NBC show recently aired a part of the series with Rosie O’Donnell tracing her roots back to Ireland.  What was interesting is that some of the program featured relatives who had been in a workhouse, in County Kildare, around the time of the Great Hunger. Fortunately for them. they were sponsored to sail to the USA and thus were part of Rosie’s early roots in America. It is always good to find a TV program that spreads the word about the Great Hunger and the part workhouses played. In fact, Rosie indicated  that these aspects of history should be made more widely known.  Hopefully she will do her part to help that happen. Watch for repeat airings of this show –  you will find it most interesting.
