All Ireland Hunger Victims Memorial

This is just in from Olivia Blanch in Dublin

Below is a piece which was read out on the 98FM Dublin Radio Station on Saturday evening at 7.00 pm

Plans are being made for an all-island memorial to honour the victims of the Great Famine. Ministers are hopeful next year’s National Famine Commemoration Day will be held in the north after talks. More than 1.5 million people died or emigrated from Ireland during the failure of the potato crop in the 1840s.
