Generosity of the New York Jewish Community

If there is one thing that cheers me up it’s to see people crossing the lines of religion, culture, national affinity and all that goes with getting together and helping one another.  Many people know that the Quaker Community put food and other supplies in the hands of those starving during the Great Hunger. Less of us know of the contribution made by the New York Jewish Community. Now, we are about to say Thank You. The President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, will mark the acts of generosity made back in those tragic historical times – this will take place on Sunday, May 23.

Sunday, May 23 –  Synagogue visit on Sunday (8:30 AM) will include songs in Irish, English & Yiddish.  This visit is to mark the generosity of the New York Jewish community to the people of Ireland during An Gorta Mor – The Great Hunger.   See details on Invitation below.

Saying Thank You is always a pleasure.
