New York Great Hunger Commemoration

Sat & Sun, May 22 & 23  are the days designated for the Great Hunger Commemoration in NYC

The Irish Government has set May 22 and 23, as this year’s dates for annual Great Hunger Commemoration. Niall Burgess, Consul General of Ireland, is planning this commemoration event to be held in NYC.

Here are the details that are available to date:

Sunday, May 23 at 1:30 pm – there will be a Commemoration at the Great Hunger Famine Memorial, Battery Park  City.  The President of Ireland, Mary McAleese is expected to participate.  You can find more information at: http://www.irishradio.com and check www.consulateofirelandnewyork.org for updates to the schedule as start time may change. The Consulate website will post clear details and times closer to the date.
