Bell Ringing on the 16th May

Things are moving on the Committees, organisation and planning side for May 22nd and 23rd – An Gorta Mór, National Commemoration.

I am trying to get the Churches, both Protestant and Catholic, North, South, East and West and anywhere overseas that is holding a Commemoration to get the Churches in the locality to take part in bell ringing on the 16th May.   In the event of Churches not taking part in the bell ringing, if hand held bells can be rung at the Ceremony to break the one minutes silence.

The symbolising of the bell ringing is to finally lift the silence after 165 years, of indifference and denial of this catastrophe and also linking the Irish Family home and abroad.  It is the wake, respect and honour the victims never had and the celebration of life for the survivors.
